Eddie Kim, partner at Nook Coffee Bar, shared that this was an intentional decision made by his team. “We aimed to create a space that feels very open and integrates indoor and outdoor areas through our glass wall doors. We want our guests to feel as if they've been transported to a place of tranquility and rest, even if just for a brief moment.”
What adds even more to the space is their meticulously crafted coffee tables, created by an aspiring architect on their in-house team. “We custom-made our coffee tables and stools to add a unique touch. We chose a bean shape with endless layers of stacked wood to provide texture and originality. One of our managers, Josh Na, came up with this idea. He handcrafted everything, using scrap wood and pallets, and applied resources from his studies to bring the tables and stools to life. Josh’s creativity and hard work really shined here.” The curved lines of the benches and bar also play into the ambiance. “We made sure they were all curvy to match the tables and stools, creating a consistent and soft, gentle energy throughout the shop, avoiding sharp edges and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.”
